  1. Wendy, we write for God’s glory and His Kingdom work. I too have a problem with the compettiton surrounding writing and blogs. I echo what others say about it is a wonderful blessing in itself when someone takes the time to comment on how your piece reached them and helped them through a difficult time. There needs to be far more real writing that dares to be vulnerable in reaching out to others in their struggles. All we experience in times of joy and challenge hopefully brings others closer to God and His will for their lives.

A former pastor said in one of is sermons, “Our job as Christians is simply to be faithful to what God calls to our heart to do.” We leave the results of it up to God.

Keep up the great work you’re doing being an inspiration to many!

And thanks for stopping by my blog.

    1. Thank you, Kevin, for your visit and for your encouraging words. I followed the link from the Word Guild facebook group to get to your blog. I joined a few months ago.
I like the quote by your former pastor. It’s applicable to parenthood as well as writing. Nice to meet you. I hope to drop by again after I finish errands. ❀

  2. Hi Wendy! I had not seen your “award free” post before until now. I nominated you this morning for the Creative Blogger award. I had been nominated several weeks ago and just now got to have enough time to follow up with it. I completely understand you choosing not to be involved with it, but I did want to let you know I think very highly of your blog. (Does anything actually happen with these nominations or is it more of a positive nod to blogs you like or admire? I really don’t know is why I ask.) You don’t have to nominate or follow-up on this at all! I just wanted to let you know. http://elainewlane.com/2015/04/20/creative-blogger-award-catch-up/

    1. Thank you, dear Elaine, for your kind words. I just popped over and read your delightful post (I’m a hugger too). ❤

I think the reason for the awards is to provide an easy way to introduce others to your favorite blogs. Now, I occasionally like to mention other bloggers on my own. It was nice to learn more about you–enjoy your trip to Ireland. ❀ Thank you again for thinking of me.

  3. I LOVE that this is award free. I am so very weary of all the competing. When I write my blog, I only ask that God brings people to it who need a word of encouragement or to feel hope that only comes from knowing Jesus. It’s a joy to me when someone says what you wrote today really touched me or I need that today. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does I’m thankful that whatever text I used that day, God used for good.

Award free – is like music to my soul.

    1. Jane, we might not find out on this side of heaven each time our words were used to encourage someone. But I agree with you that it’s such a joy when we do.

Blessings as you continue to write for Him. ❀ Your comment is “music to my soul.”

  4. Sorry to hear this. I like awards even that it takes lots of my time to do all that linking. I find the time though, I love to promote my wonderful followers and give them encouragement, the same I got from a great friend when I was just trying my wings in blogging:) Have a lovely weekend!
