cutting into heart and soul

love responds with grace

  1. 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. — Matthew 5:38–5:42 KJV

Excellent poem and so very well said, dear Wendy… Happy weekend ahead. Love and best wishes. Aquileana ⭐️

  2. Turning the other cheek is probably one of the most mis-interpreted pieces of scripture. It’s not that we defiantly stand there and let the person strike us again. . . its that we find the grace to love the person who just struck us. Not the typical human response. . .

    1. Gene, I appreciate your mention of grace being the focus and not grinning and bearing it. I remember a passage in Matthew when Jesus disappeared from the midst of an angry mob. He doesn’t expect us to neglect our safety without good reason.

  3. Beautiful as always, Wendy. Words ARE daggers sometimes. And as hard as it is, it’s the most freeing when we respond with grace. Easy? No way. The better way. Yes. Always. Thanks for this reminder, and for sharing your beautiful photo!

  4. This was a great post. Wisdom borne out of experience – I call it using the shield of faith that comes through presence of mind in connecting with the King – allowing Him to respond to any ‘darts’ – thanks for the blessing. KR

I enjoy a word in season, so I'd love it if you added an apple to the bowl.
